this lady is so lovely. we did her senior portraits at her family’s farm near manhattan, ks.
that day, i jumped into the car in a hurry to not be late, in lawrence, & sped the whole way to their house… as soon as i stepped out of my car, their adorable dog ran up to greet me… i could hear their rooster crowing & their goats bleating, & the overall serenity & peace of rural kansas washed over me. i love nature. it was wonderful to wander their land with joanna, photographing her at different places full of meaning & memories. by their historic barn, in her grandpa’s old flannel shirt, near her grandma’s glider, in a patch of peonies, in an open field never touched by a plow, & with all of her animals. joanna is going to college to study animal science next year, & eventually become a veterinarian… & she will be an amazing one.
