i’ve been so excited about posting these photos since shot this wedding in may– everything about this day was sooooooo gorgeoussss.
first of all, melina has AMAZING taste, so her decor, accessories, styling… everything was perfect. not to mention melina & matthew are like, the cutest couple ever.. with the sweetest family & friends.
their wedding was at club 1000 in kansas city. their florists, bridget & angela with ornamental petal, did a wonderful job with the flowers & centerpieces. i couldn’t get enough of them!!
my good friend, tyler gregory played at the ceremony… melina walked down the aisle to “something” by the beatles, which was overwhelming beautiful, & they walked out to “all you need is love.” loveee!!
at the reception, craig with elite sounds, did an awesome job DJing- i don’t think the dance floor was empty all night! everybody was so much fun.![]()
here is what melina wrote about their day…
“It was very important for Matthew and I to have an intimate, personal feeling at our wedding, so we tried to incorporate very “special” things in the ceremony and reception. I never wanted people to feel like it was cookie cutter.
Since Matthew is from North Carolina, we decided to use the dogwood tree for our invitations and in the ceremony. (the tree is the state tree for Missouri and the state flower for NC). Our florist purchased two dogwoods for us to stand under during the ceremony. They weren’t in bloom then, so she created white paper blossoms. It was gorgeous!
The locket around my bouquet was my great grandmothers. Her son, my papou (greek for grandpa) passed away about a month before the wedding. We were very close, so it was nice to have something from his mother to wear around my bouquet.
All the table centerpieces were works of love. My mother and sister helped me purchase almost everything for the tables. We had old photos of Matthew and I growing up, cigar boxes, books, candelabras and tons more. We especially loved all the cake plates because they’ll be awesome heirlooms to pass down.
…We had homemade dog treats for our guests to take home to their pooches. Our lab, Stewart is a big a part of our lives, so we had a special message from him to our guests along with the goodies.![]()
One idea that I loved was our guest book table! Instead of the traditional guest book, we had our favorite children’s books out for our guests to write their well wishes in. One day, Matthew and I will be able to share those messages to our children. It will be so sweet!
Also, the favors for our guests are called Koufeta. It’s a Greek tradition. You give an odd number of candy almonds to your guests because odd numbers are indivisible, just like Matthew and I’s love.
”
i really can’t say enough about how much absolutely beauuuutiful this wedding was!![]()
